Practice Philosophy
I have been practicing within the field of nutrition for over 10 years. My goals with my practice include helping people transition and make real, attainable lifestyle changes while still enjoying real food. My belief is that everyone is different and therefore there is not a "one size fits all" approach to health.
I like to work with clients to individualize their eating preferences while teaching them how to sustain healthy attributes for life. Furthermore, I like to incorporate your relationship with food and exercise, and guide you into a life-path you were always meant to live. When you work with me, you do not just become my "client" or "patient" but you become my partner in discovering the best version of yourself.
Where I Started
I graduated in 2013 from Texas Tech University with my Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics. I then went on to complete my dietetic internship in Chicago. After completion of 1500+ hours of my internship, I passed my Registered Dietitian Exam.
My passion for nutrition began at an early age with cooking. Growing up, I was curious about nutrition and fitness. Then as I learned more about the study and function of nutrition I became interested in how it can be used to treat and heal people from numerous diseases.
The reason why I became a dietitian is because I love the concept of viewing nutrition as a SCIENCE and an ART. In addition to that, I believe that my calling in life is to help people (I wanted to pursue psychology prior to nutrition in college).
I love seeing the evolvement of my clients through a full mind-body-soul transition.
Work History
Starting as a clinical dietitian in the hospital setting taught me how different everyone's health profile looked. It developed me into a compassionate practitioner who always put the patient first. It taught me that relationships are everything and you need to develop them if you want to get any results.
I worked my way up and became the director over the nutrition department. This taught me resilience, versatility, planning and executing, and a vast form of communication. After years spent in the hospital setting, it was time to venture off and pursue what I always wanted to do - my own private practice nutrition counseling and consulting business. Officially established May 2019!
Personal
In my leisure, I enjoy preparing homemade meals and consider it a therapeutic part of my day. I love to incorporate my knowledge of nutrition into the meals that I create.
When I am not cooking or coaching my clients, I enjoy being outdoors with my pup, Mila, traveling with my hubby, practicing yoga, hitting up local taco joints and sippinβ on a tasty spicy marg or a glass of red wine!
